Sheila Jay  trained at Hornsey Art College and started painting professionally after her children grew up. She taught holiday classes in Woolacombe for fifteen years and exhibited widely in Somerset and Surrey.  During a two year stay in America, Sheila studied and exhibited at an art institute.
